Banana Pudding Day
May 1st at 2:30 p.m.
There’s nothing like good ol’ southern-made banana pudding. You see it at a lot of social gatherings like church homecomings, family reunions, etc. We are going to give the residents an opportunity to sample some of this great bananalicious dessert.
Cinco de Mayo Party
May 5th at 2:30 p.m.
We will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo in our parlor area. There will be some Mexican party faves to eat and some tequila with gummy worms at the bottom. The music, food, and atmosphere will have you dancing on tables. Olé!
May 8th at 2:30 p.m.
We are going to set out plants to honor the tradition of planting. Each year, farmers plant millions of plants, so they can feed America. This activity is to show us how grateful we should be to the farmers. They make many sacrifices for us, through bad weather and crop failures. God Bless all the Farmers for serving America.
Mother’s Day Tea
May 12th at 2:30 p.m.
Mother’s Day Tea is a yearly event that we pride ourselves on. It’s a chance to recognize the mothers here, who probably struggled and sacrificed for their families. Mothers are the glue that holds the family together. What would we do without them? We will be serving refreshments and tea at this event.
May 19th at 3:30 p.m.
May is the time of year we look forward to buying and picking strawberries. We are going to look up some fun facts about strawberries, and even get to eat some fresh from the garden. Our town here in Morristown has a Strawberry Festival each year. There are food vendors, crafters, music groups, and best of all, those sweet red berries!
Memorial Day Cookout
May 26th at 11:30 a.m.
We will be celebrating with a cookout for the ones that gave their all for us, to live here in the United States, free to prosper. Some countries don’t have that luxury. Our cookout will have all the red, white, and blue we can muster.
Themed Meal of the Month
Our themed meal is a summer cookout. We will grill food on the gas grills for our residents, and the kitchen will have side dishes and dessert, just like having a picnic at a national park!
