October – Resident Spotlight
Mildred was born in Bryson City, NC. She lived in that area until she went to college at Appalachian State.
She married her husband, Robert, and moved to West TN. While there, she completed her degree in Teaching.
Her husband worked for TVA, and was transferred to Rogersville. She worked for Hawkins Elementary for many years — first as a Teacher, then Assistant Principal, then Principal.
Mildred has two sons — Mark and Derek. She has one grandson, Ronan, who is the joy of her life. Mildred moved to Regency to be closer to Ronan and her family, and she loves living here. She enjoys playing BINGO and participating in other activities, especially singing at Resident Talent Shows. Mildred sang in her church choir for many years and loves to sing. Mildred has also been on the Residents’ Council.
